No Rachelle: Major FAIL!

One of my friends asked me about the possible repercussions for Bryce Dallas Howard if Rachelle got her job back, and I want to say:

I think Bryce Dallas Howard is an excellent actress. She has never been hurting for work. She has always had the love and support of her own fans and of her family. I know I support her, in other efforts. It is never a big fan-friendly thing to replace a beloved character in a series. I think feelings-wise, she probably should have been aware of the fallout.

This particular statement sounds whiny:

If Ms. Lefevre was, as she describes “passionate,” about being part of THE TWILIGHT SAGA, we feel that she and her representatives would have included us in her decision to work on another film that would conflict with the shooting schedule of THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE.

Please reconsider your recasting of the part of Victoria for the movie Eclipse. Rachelle IS Victoria to fans.

The Twilight Saga has a very devoted fanbase. We have been waiting and hoping for the moment when we would see Victoria finally shine in Eclipse. We always believed that this would be with Rachelle Lefevre, a fan favorite, and we are disheartened and amazed that you could suddenly recast this part.

Why not accommodate Rachelle? She's clearly made this part her own, and we believe that it would be a travesty to have someone new play this role. Cam was accommodated when he needed time. Why not Rachelle? Her importance to this film is just as significant as (if not moreso than) his in Twilight.

Bryce Dallas Howard is a wonderful actress, but she's not Victoria.

As many of you know, yesterday it was announced by Summit that the part of Victoria was recast to Bryce Dallas Howard. This has upset many fans, and this community has been created as a way for us to express our loyalty to Rachelle Lefevre's portrayal of Victoria.

For those of you who have no interest in Twilight and think this whole effort is a big waste of time, think of your favorite movie having a major character recast because of "scheduling conflicts" which were later discovered to only be a minor conflict (10 days). For example, if the part of Draco Malfoy had been recast prior to HP6 and given to someone who was unfamiliar with the intricacies of the role, then how would you feel? If HP6 doesn't float your boat, just think of some series that did...Spider-Man? Lord of the Rings? Pirates of the Caribbean? Just think of something you LOVED and you can understand our frustration.
